Miss Rica Bolipata Santos is the editor of my book Mom’s A Stewardess. Prior to working with her on the book, I did not know her personally and I just took a chance to e-mail her to ask if she did edit books. Prior to that, I was particularly touched by an essay that she wrote about “being rich” which appeared in the Philippine Star, so much so that even if I didn’t know her, I sent her e-mail just to let her know that her essay spoke to me.
Having Your Book Manuscript Reviewed
December 29th, 2008If you are a relatively new or unknown author or writer, your book can benefit from having known people or writers come up with a testimonial or endorsement of your book. Doing this, however, will entail costs and time.
Finding An Artist for Your Book
December 27th, 2008When you come out with or publish your book, chances are you will need to scout for an artist who can give your book cover or pages of your book the look and feel that you want. The Gift of Abundance by Pido Aguilar, Jr.
December 25th, 2008I was at a Christmas reunion recently and during the gathering, talk turned to how things will be for business in 2009. Everyone thought that things will be quite dark and bleak and that so far, we just haven’t felt it since for Filipinos, “tuloy pa din ang Pasko!” (roughly, that means that Christmas is still a time for making merry even amidst difficult times). Different individuals were awaiting the impact of the global financial crisis by January 2009.
Should You Read Other Books?
November 29th, 2008When I was discussing months ago with my publisher about our book project, my publisher suggested that I stop reading other books too much. Reading too many similar books, while easier for the writer in terms of possibly generating new or related ideas, might lead to the writer “being influenced” by other writers.
Writing Your Book and Copyright
November 15th, 2008The copyright owner for Mom’s A Stewardess is Claretian Publications. They own the copyright since they spent for all the costs in relation to publishing or coming out with the book.
